War

I wrote this in my morning half hour bus ride (to the subway station). I wrote this thinking about what I watched on the news before I left my house. 7 oclock in the morning and I turn on the tv and I watch the devastation in Isreal and Lebanon.

War is on. The innocent will die and the guilty will live. The ammunition will be used till their pockets are empty. They might call truce or one of them might win. The winner will be the right one and the loser becomes the evil and to be blamed. History will add the events. And then there will be controversies. Those who aided the winner will punish the loser and pretend to not have the guilty conscience of killing thousands and millions of innocent people. The losers will be tried and no mercy will be the judge. A crude sentence will be give by the winner pretending as if they are not guilty for the same war crimes. Terms will be set and treaties will be signed. The losers lose all, their people, lives, government, money, land and winners get to play their version of God. As if righteousness were them from the beginning. Every casualty will be recorded and injured will be treated. Medals for the dead[soldiers] and promotions for the living ones. The winner will celebrate and losers will remorse.

The living soldiers would go home and hug and kiss their families. But still, nobody and nobody would care for the innocent ones who are dead. They'll record a stat and they'll publish a few articles of comparing them with previous wars - as if it is a game of numbers. Just waiting who got the highest score.

The innocent is innocent - he might be weak or he might be the strongest one. Nobody thinks of him and nobody fights for him. They die not knowing why? They survive wondering why? Noone asks the innocent who do you want to put on trial? Nobody tells him what did he do wrong to survive without his loved of life alive. Noone thinks of the baby or why he was made an orphan in one night? The dead are sound as sleep. The survivors live with pain and agony.
The war that they didn't start, the war that they didn't want and the war that wasnt their fault, killed them all. Destroyed their homes, lives and minds. And those guilty still live and celebrate and plan for future ignites.
